This is a simple tutorial to make a boat program that moves with the keyboard arrows.

The main concept covered is for children to see how to change direction when pressing an arrow key. Then children need to use logical reasoning to finish linking all up, down, left and right movements with the keys.

Optional challenge activities:

  • Include a pen trail
  • Change the colour of the sprite (boat)
  • Change the background.
